A 23-year-old Indian man was shot dead during an armed robbery in Chicago, according to a media report on Tuesday.
Devesh Nandipu was shot Sunday night during an armed robbery in Princeton Park on the South Side, Chicago police said Tuesday morning.
A report by ABC7’s Eyewitness News said he succumbed to his injuries.
Nandipu died just after 4 a.m. Monday at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the report added. He was shot in the armpit during the incident and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Nandipu and another 22-year-old youth were near a parking lot at around 6.55 pm on Sunday when a dark-colored vehicle approached them. Two men in the car held them at gunpoint and demanded valuables from them.
Nandipu and his friend complied and were shot, officials said.
The teenager was shot in the chest and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
No arrest has been made in the case yet.
