Tim David, Batter, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has been fined 50% of his match charge and has additionally collected two Demerit Factors for breaching Stage 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Gamers and Crew Officers through the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Remaining in opposition to Gujarat Titans (GT) on the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
David was discovered to have breached Article 2.9 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to “throwing a ball (or some other merchandise of cricket tools equivalent to a water bottle) at or close to a Participant, Crew Official, Umpire, Match Referee or some other third particular person in an inappropriate and/or harmful method throughout a Match.”

David admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by the Match Referee, Mr Javagal Srinath.
This was David’s third Stage 1 offence of the season, having dedicated his first offence in Match 20 (one Demerit Level) and his second offence in Match 54 (two Demerit Factors). He has now collected 5 Demerit Factors, which lead to a one-game suspension. Accordingly, he might be suspended for RCB’s first sport of the subsequent IPL season or the primary sport of the franchise he represents in IPL 2027.
