The wetlands in Kutch in Gujarat and Etah in Uttar Pradesh have been recognised as Ramsar websites, marking the distinctive ecosystems for conservation below a world framework.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the native inhabitants and people keen about wetland conservation for the designation of Patna Hen Sanctuary in Etah and Chhari-Dhand in Kutch as Ramsar websites.
“Delighted that the Patna Hen Sanctuary in Etah (Uttar Pradesh) and Chhari-Dhand in Kutch (Gujarat) are Ramsar websites. Congratulations to the native inhabitants there in addition to all these keen about wetland conservation,” Mr. Modi mentioned in a submit on X.
The designation of those two websites below the Ramsar Conference takes the full variety of such wetlands in India to 98.
