Bail rider ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’ for slogan ‘Pak zindabad’ | News from India – Times of India

BHOPAL/JABALPUR: Madhya Pradesh HC bailed a Bhopal man accused of shouting “Pakistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad” on the condition that he would have to go to a police station twice a month, salute the national flag 21 times, saying “Jai Bharat Mata Ki‘ every time.
Until the conclusion of the case, the accused Faizal alias Faizan should appear at PS Misrod where the case is registered on the first and fourth Tuesdays of every month and salute Indian flag 21 times with the slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, the bench ordered.
According to the prosecution, Faizal raised the slogan on May 17, 2024. He was arrested by the Misrod police in Bhopal under Section 153 of the IPC for “promoting enmity‘. He has been in custody since then.
Faisal’s lawyer admitted that he had shouted the slogan but pleaded with the court to release him on bail subject to some strict conditions. Government counsel opposed bail, saying that Faisal had criminal history and committed a grave offense by raising a slogan against the country.
After hearing both sides, the HC said there were 13 cases against the accused and he was also seen shouting the slogan on video. However, the HC decided to grant him bail on a personal surety of Rs 50,000 and surety of the same amount in the trial court.
