Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he would impose tariffs on China if China entered Taiwan.
Washington:
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he would impose additional tariffs on China if China “goes into Taiwan.”
“I would say, if you go to Taiwan, I’m sorry to do it, I’m going to put a 150% to 200% tax on you,” Trump was quoted as saying in an interview with the WSJ published Friday night.
Trump, asked if he would use military force against China’s blockade of Taiwan, said it would not come to that because Chinese President Xi Jinping respected him.
