John Fetterman says Elon Musk is a problem for Democrats: ‘Some people see him as Tony Stark’ – Times of India

Senator from Pennsylvania John Fetterman said Elon Musk’s support for Donald Trump is a problem for Democrats, as some people see it Elon Musk like the Marvel hero Tony Stark. Democrats have been taking Elon Musk lightly, but they are doing so at their own peril, the Democratic leader said. “I mean, Musk is incredibly successful and, you know, I think some people would see him as Tony Stark. The Democrats, you know, ignore it or make fun of it for jumping up and down and things like that. And I would just say that they do that at our peril,” Fetterman told the New York Post.
Elon Musk has gone out of his way to support Donald Trump and will be part of the Trump administration if the former president returns to the White House. Soon after the first assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler in July, Elon Musk announced his support for Trump. As Donald Trump returned to Butler for the first time since the assassination attempt, he had Elon Musk with him, and now Elon Musk is holding solo events in support of Donald Trump.
Elon Musk has given nearly $75 million to America PAC, a Super PAC (political action committee) he launched earlier this year largely in support of Donald Trump.
Fetterman said the Elon Musk factor is a problem in Pennsylvania, a key swing state for the president. “Trump has a connection that is undeniable. And anyone who spends any time in Pennsylvania can see that kind of devotion, and that’s why it’s going to be very tight,” Fetterman said.
Fetterman said Elon Musk is an attractive replacement for the demographics in Pennsylvania that Democrats need to win in November.
“In business, many surrogates really don’t mean much. But Musk is undeniably successful. He’s the richest man in the world, and he’s been involved in a lot of big things, like SpaceX or AI, and And he has — he’s got a brand, and that’s appealing to the demographics that we need to have to win in Pennsylvania, and it’s not even word for his checkbook,” Fetterman said on CNN.
