Meet Bini Muduli, the first woman from Bonda tribal community to crack Odisha Public Service Commission – News18


Bini has completed her 12th standard from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

Her father, Ram Muduli, is a cook at SSD Government High School, Mudulipada, while her mother is an Anganwadi worker.

It is often said that if a person is determined to achieve something and works for it with all dedication, nothing can stop him from succeeding. Today we will talk about one such inspiring story of a girl belonging to the Bonda tribal community in Odisha. She emerged as the first woman from the community to clear the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) examination. The girl’s name is Bini Muduli.

Bini belongs to Khemaguda village located in Malkangiri district of Odisha. Her father, Ram Muduli, is a cook at SSD Government High School, Mudulipada, while her mother is an Anganwadi worker. She completed her primary education from a school in Mudulipada. Bini is a Class 12 graduate from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV). He then graduated from Vikram Dev University.

She worked as an Ayurvedic assistant while preparing for the exam. Binny reportedly took help from online sources and YouTube for her preparation. In an interview, she mentioned that her parents were her biggest inspiration and she was also highly encouraged by her teachers, friends and colleagues. Bini has secured a rank of 568 in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.

Binny also mentioned that he wants to work with the government to ensure that all tribal support schemes are properly implemented for the development of the Bonda community. Honoring her achievement, the villagers and local authorities gave her a grand welcome. She was reportedly honored with a shawl and bouquet. A villager mentioned that her achievement is an inspiration not only to her community but also to the entire Malkangiri district. She has reportedly worked with complete dedication to achieve this extraordinary feat.

Other candidates from Malkangiri district also performed remarkably in the OPSC exam:

Shyama Madhi –

A resident of Pathrel village situated in Paikmal Tehsil of Bargarh district has secured 631 rank.

Bhagyashree Mishra –

She is a resident of Mendukuli, Odisha. She has reportedly secured a rank of 138.
