The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the practical exam dates of the CBSE Class 10th and 12th exams for the academic year 2024-25. According to the official notification, the board is scheduled to conduct the CBSE Board Practical Exams 2025 for classes 10th and 12th in January 2025. CBSE 10th, 12th Board 2025 practical exams will start on January 1 and theory exams will start on February 15 next year.
“Class X and XIl practical/IA and annual board theory exams are scheduled to start on 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively,” CBSE’s official release stated.
However, the CBSE Winter Schools will conduct the CBSE Board Practical Exams 2025 between 5th November to 5th December 2024. The Board has also published SOPs and guidelines for conducting Practical Exams/Projects/Internal Assessments in Winter Schools. These schools will remain closed in January 2025.

CBSE Releases Subject-Wise Marks Bifurcation
CBSE has also released the bifurcation of subject marks for class 10th and 12th. The board has instructed the schools to carefully go through the details of mark distribution to avoid any inconvenience to students or errors in uploading marks for practical exams and internal assessments. CBSE published the list containing the subject code with the following details-
1. Class
2. Subject code
3. Theme name
4. Theory exam for maximum marks
5. Practical exam with maximum mark
6. Maximum assessment of the project
7. Maximum marks for internal assessment (|A)
8. Whether an external examiner will be appointed for practical/project
assessment
9. Whether the practice answer book will be provided by the board
10. Type of answer book to be used in theory exams
to ensure the smooth conduct of practical exams/projects/internal assessments and theory exams of class 10th and 12th. According to the official notification, the maximum marks awarded for each subject is 100 and the marks are distributed among theory, practical, project and IA components as per the details published in the list by CBSE. CBSE Board Theory Exams 2025 will be held from 15 February 2025.
