A ZDNet Korea report (in Korean), citing industry sources, says Samsung Electronics is considering an entry-level clamshell-style foldable phone as well as a “triple-folding model that can fold the screen twice” — both phones can to be released by the company in 2025.

The publication cited a source who claimed that plans for commercialization and component development of the triple model have already been completed by Samsung Display’s partners. However, the decision to launch the product rests with the head of Samsung Electronics’ MX division, the source added.

Orders for OLED displays used in foldable phones fell 10 percent year-on-year, according to the report, due to lower-than-expected demand for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 models that the company launched earlier this year. year year.
