US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said: “We appreciate them keeping us informed of their investigation, as we keep them informed of ours, and the person named in the DOJ indictment is no longer an employee of the Indian government.” Last year, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) accused an Indian official, identified as CC-1 in court documents, of leading a plot to kill a US citizen who was later identified as Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
