Actor Anil Kapoor Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, also known as Balasaheb Thackeray, remembered on his 97th birth anniversary. Taking to Twitter on Monday, Anil posted a monochrome throwback photo featuring the actor and the politician. Anil also wrote a note for the late Shiv Sena leader. He smiled looking at Anil in the picture Bal Thackeray. Standing in front of the actor, the Shiv Sena leader folded his hands on him. A few people were also seen around them. In the picture, Anil was wearing a suit while Bala Sahib was dressed in a white ethnic dress. Anil also posted another picture of Bala Sahib in a saffron dress.

The actor captioned the post, “If fearlessness had a face, it would definitely be Balasaheb. One of the leaders who inspired me through his humour, humility and strength!”

Anil also wrote, “He’ll call me and say, ‘Hey Anil! Your new film is out! Abhi Tak Dekhai Nahi (Anil, your new film is out. You haven’t shown it to me yet)?’ Miss you #Bala Sahib!(Clap hands emoji).

Born in Pune, Maharashtra in 1926, Bal Thackeray started his career as a cartoonist but later quit. He then founded the political party Shiv Sena in 1966. He did not hold any official position during his political career. He died of a heart attack on 17 November 2012. He was 86 years old.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Bal Thackeray, saying that he dedicated his life to public welfare. The Prime Minister tweeted on Monday, “Remembering Bala Sahib Thackeray on his birth anniversary, I will always cherish my various interactions with him. He was blessed with knowledge and wisdom. He dedicated his life to Dedicated to public welfare,” the prime minister tweeted on Monday.

Anil will next be seen in The Night Manager opposite Sobhita Dhulipala. Directed by Sandeep Modi, the upcoming series also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Tilutma Shome, Sasuta Chatterjee, and Ravi Bahl.

It will air on Disney+ Hotstar from February 17. The series is an official Hindi adaptation of John Le Carré’s novel The Night Manager. Apart from Night Manager, Anil will be seen in Siddharth Anand’s next Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
