Scream 7 star Anna Camp issued an apology for an announcement she shared on social media that taunted those that protested the brand new film within the wake of Melissa Barrera’s controversial departure from the franchise.
Camp shared one other account’s Instagram story that taunted: “The boycott didn’t work. The critics’ hate didn’t work. The pathetic leaks didn’t work. What labored was audiences popping out and making the movie successful.”
The story was beforehand posted by the Scream With Ryan C. Showers podcast (beneath). On Monday, Camp deleted her submit and wrote on X: “It has come to my consideration that I reposted another person’s story that doesn’t mirror my private beliefs. I’ve since deleted the repost as a result of I completely meant no hurt. I’m sorry to anybody who was affected.”
The boycott is in reference to uproar over Barrera being ousted from Scream 7 in 2023 after showing within the fifth and sixth films within the franchise.
