Arbaaz Khan reacts to controversy surrounding Alia Bhatt’s Jigra: “There are groups and camps, but…” – Times of India

Alia BhattisJigra‘ has been surrounded by some controversies since the release of the film. First it was due to the casting as many felt that the film was originally supposed to star Katrina Kaif, but Karan Johar brought Alia on board. Later actress-director Divya Khosla accused the producers of inflating the box office numbers, while she claimed that theaters were empty.
Amidst these controversies, the film may have also suffered. Not to mention, it also received its share of criticism for its content. Arbaaz Khan has now reacted to the ‘Jigra’ scandal in an interview. He told News18 that the industry should come together for a common cause. “There is support within the industry. People do their own thing, but when it comes time to unite for a common cause, the industry unites. This industry is pretty much there for each other.”
He further added, “There are groups and camps, but it just means that directors and actors feel comfortable working with a certain set of people, and that’s fine. But if they need to, they will also change groups. Aisa nahi hai ki woh ussi group ke saat humesha kaam karenge.”
Clarifying his stand further, Arbaaz said, “If a director wants to work with a different actor, he will reach out. Filmmaking is such a tedious process and you would want to work with those you feel comfortable with. This comfort comes from the understanding that two people share. And if they’ve had success with that combination, there’s no reason to change anything.
On the work front, Arbaaz’s next production is the Bandaa Singh Chaudhary starrer Arshad Warsi.
