Gastroenteritis is an infection commonly caused by a variety of viruses such as rotaviruses and noroviruses, but is not caused by the influenza virus. When it comes to the flu, it affects one’s respiratory system (nose, throat, lungs, etc.) and one may experience symptoms such as cough, congestion, fever, and muscle aches. Gastro is known to affect the intestines and will have symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

2. How can gastroenteritis spread?

If you have gastro, it can spread to others by touching handrails, elevator buttons, sharing utensils, and other objects. So, if you are suffering from this condition then it will be important for you to take extreme precautions.

3. How is gastroenteritis treated?

Well, there is no specific treatment for this condition. One will be asked to get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated, and avoid eating outside food that can harm one’s health. Also have tea, coconut water and soup. It is best to include probiotics in the diet to improve gut health. Do not eat spicy, oily, canned or processed foods.
