In another incident of stone pelting, unidentified miscreants targeted the recently launched New Jalpaiguri-Howrah. Vande Bharat Express Train to Katihar in Bihar on Friday. According to news agency ANI, though no one was reported injured in the incident, one of the window panes of coach number C-6 was broken due to stone pelting.
The escort party of 22302 under Vande Bharat Express said that the passengers in coach 6 at berth number 70 while crossing Dalkhula-Telta railway station reported stone pelting to them. News agency ANI quoted an official of the Bihar Railway Police Force as saying that the incident comes under Balrampur in Katihar, Bihar.
“Due to the stone, a window pane on the right side of coach C-6 was broken,” the official added.
The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30.
This is the third time that the New Jalpaiguri-Howarth Junction Vande Bharat Express train has been attacked and the second such incident in Bihar. Before, The train was attacked In West Bengal, two coaches of the train were pelted with stones on the second day of its operation when at Malda and the next day at Kishanganj, according to Eastern Railway officials.
In the first incident, the glass door was damaged, while in the second attack, the window panes were damaged. No passenger was injured in these incidents, but an FIR was registered in both the incidents.
