‘Being weak is a crime’: Mohan Bhagwat at Dussehra event on violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, Kolkata rape | News from India – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwatduring the Dussehra event in Nagpur on Saturday, expressed strong criticism against the anti-Hindu and anti-minority forces operating in Bangladesh. He said, “What happened in our neighboring Bangladesh? There may be some proximate causes, but those who are concerned will discuss it. But because of this chaos, the tradition of binding atrocities vs Hindus repeated there.”
“For the first time Hindus united and took to the streets for their defence. But as long as this radical nature of committing atrocities out of anger is there – not only Hindus but all minorities will be in danger,” Bhagwat added.
Bhagwat said he needed global Hindu support for those affected and called on the Indian government to offer help, adding: “Being weak is a crime. If we are weak, we cause cruelty. Wherever we are, we must be united and empowered.”

Commenting on the narratives being circulated in Bangladesh, Bhagwat said, “There are such discussions in Bangladesh that we have a threat from India and therefore we have to side with Pakistan as they have nuclear weapons, we can stop India… We all know which countries are pushing such discussions and narratives we don’t need to use their name and such industries are run in India to stop the deep state and cultural. Marxism is a few words that were discussed last year as well. A few people said these things are gone – but they’ve been around for a long time…”

Taking an indirect dig at the Bengal government in its handling of the RG Kar rape-murder case, Bhagwat said, “In the rape of a doctor in Kolkata, some tried to protect the criminals; the nexus of crime, politics and a poisonous culture was ruining us.’
He also expressed concern over the spread of divisive narratives aimed at destabilizing Indian society. Bhagwat said, “We have such a large and diverse society – to create this diversity as a division or to divide even when there is no diversity but to make them think that we are diverse and therefore we are aloof – giving such a narrative – to agitate people, to creates an environment where the public loses faith and begins to disrespect government, law and order, administration – helps to establish supremacy over the country by staying abroad.”

Referring to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, he said, “Sometimes situations are challenging and sometimes good… Human life is materially happier than before, but we see that in this happy and developed human society, many struggles continue. The war that started between Israel and Hamas – everyone is worried about how much wider it will be and what impact it will have on others.”
