The Indian team of Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza moved into the semi-finals of the Australian Open mixed doubles unsigned as they got a walkover from Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez here on Tuesday.

The Indian team is yet to drop a set in the mixed team competition.

They now await the winner of the quarter-finals between third seeds Desira Kruczyk and Neal Skopski and the pairings of Taylor Townsend and Jamie Murray.

Bopanna and his partner Matthew Ebden, seeded 10th, were eliminated in the first round of the men’s doubles event, while Mirza and his Kazakh partner Anna Danielina lost in the second round of the women’s doubles.

Ramkumar Ramanathan and his Mexican partner Miguel Angel Reyes Varela, Yuki Bhambri and Sakith Menini were also eliminated in the first round.

Jeevan Nedonchizian and N Sriram Balaji made it to the second round before bowing out.

No Indians entered the men’s singles event.
