Srinagar, Feb 03: The Centre on Tuesday mentioned that three proposed railway tasks in Kashmir have been placed on maintain following objections from locals and elected representatives, who raised considerations over large-scale land acquisition and its impression on apple orchards.
In line with information company—Kashmir Information Observer (KNO), Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw mentioned that there’s already a railway line from Srinagar to Baramulla, and there was a requirement to arrange three extra railway traces.
“Later, the Jammu and Kashmir authorities and Members of Parliament raised considerations that these traces should not be arrange as these would have impacted apple orchards considerably. Now, the federal government has determined to place these proposed protects on maintain,” he mentioned.
The choice comes amid protests by apple growers and residents in Pulwama, Shopian and Anantnag districts, voicing concern that these tasks would have an effect on the agricultural and horticultural land, injury orchards, and result in displacement of households.
