MCA appointed More as Interim Chairman.
Sunil More was appointed as the interim chairman of the senior selection committee by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday.
More, who was a member of the committee, was promoted last week after the BCCI included former chairman Salil Ankola in the national selection panel. More played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy in the 1990s and scored 1503 runs in 25 matches with five centuries at an average of 44.20.

Local football promoter Karkera is no more.
Surendra Karkera, who took a keen interest in promoting grassroots football, died of a heart attack at his Borivali residence on Tuesday. Karkira, 71, is survived by wife Bina and son Vishal.
Karkera, who represented the Central Bank of India, founded the Bipin Football Academy in 1988 in memory of his son Bipin. Under the banner of the academy, Karkera conducts free coaching camps for boys and girls thrice a year during school holidays at various centers in Mumbai city and suburbs. Many players from Bipin’s camps have gone on to play for established clubs in Mumbai and across the country. Former India striker Steven Dias, who graduated from the Bipin Academy, was the chief coach during the academy’s camp at Dahisar.
Recently the Mumbai Football Association honored Karkeera with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his invaluable contribution to football.

Ashrafli Mukander and Somesh Nair scored a goal each to lead JMJ Sports Club to a 2-0 win over Ironborn FC in the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League Elite Division match at the Neville D’Souza Ground, Bandra. A comfortable win. Tuesday.
Mukander opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Nair doubled the lead in the 86th minute.
