Deeply disturbing that Donald Trump would invoke Hitler: Harris on John Kelly’s claim – Times of India

Kamala Harris issued a statement about John Kelly’s NYT interview in which Kelly said Trump admired Hitler.

vice president Kamala Harris Wednesday responded to claims made by Donald Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly in an interview with the NYT that Trump is a fascist and said that people like John Kelly will not be there for a second term. Quoting from the interview in which Joe Kelly said Donald Trump met the dictionary definition of a fascist, Kamala Harris said: “Donald Trump is more and more unstable and unstable and in a second term people like John Kelly will not be there to be the railings against his inclinations and actions’.
“Those who tried to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses would no longer be there and would not be there to restrain him.”
“It’s deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump would invoke Adolf Hitler, the man responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans,” Harris said Wednesday just now outside his official residence at the Naval Observatory in Northwest Washington.
“All of this is yet another testament to the American people of who Donald Trump really is,” she said.
“Just in the past week, Donald Trump has repeatedly called his fellow Americans the enemy within and even said he would use the United States military to go after American citizens,” Harris said Wednesday, “and let’s be clear about who he considers the enemy within. Anyone who refused to bend the knee or dared to criticize him would qualify in his mind as an internal enemy—as judges, as journalists, as nonpartisan election officials.

“We know what Donald Trump wants. He wants unchecked power. The question in 13 days will be what do the American people want?
John Kelly in his interview with the NYT said that Donald Trump admired Adolf Hitler and if re-elected he would rule as a dictator and did not understand the constitution or the rule of law. Kelly said Trump spoke admiringly of Adolf Hitler and ignored American military personnel who were disabled or who lost their lives.
Kelly told the NYT that he chose to censure Trump just two weeks before the election because of comments Trump has repeatedly made about harnessing the power of the executive branch, including the military if necessary, to remove
“enemy from within”.
Trump spokesman Stephen Cheng said: “John Kelly has completely debunked these debunked stories that he fabricated because he failed to serve his president well while serving as chief of staff and is currently suffering from a debilitating case of the syndrome of Trump’s disorder.”
