According to the National Center for Seismology, at about 3:39 a.m. (local time) on Friday, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck 517 kilometers north of Cordoba, Argentina.
“Earthquake Magnitude: 6.5 occurred on 21-01-2023, 03:39:37 IST, Lat: -26.82 & Long: -63.36, Depth: 586 km, Location: 517km N Cardoba,” NCS tweeted. NCS tweeted.
The earthquake was 104 kilometers from Monte Quemado in the province of Santiago del Estero, Argentina.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the earthquake struck at a depth of 600 kilometers (372.82 miles).
According to the US Geological Survey, tremors were felt in Paraguay and Argentina.
There are currently no reports of casualties or serious damage.
