The Election Fee of India (ECI) on Monday transferred 4 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in West Bengal, together with the state’s Director Normal of Police (DGP) and the Kolkata Police Commissioner.
The event comes a day after the ECI introduced a two-phase ballot in West Bengal to be held on April 23 and April 29. The ballot panel had transferred the state’s chief secretary and residential secretary late on Monday night time
“The Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, in his press convention yesterday, had assured that elections in West Bengal could be violence-free and peaceable. In pursuance of this goal, ECI has appointed and transferred senior police officers within the state, together with the DGP of state police and CP of Kolkata police,” stated a senior ECI official.
Siddh Nath Gupta, a 1992-batch IPS officer, will change Peeyush Pandey as the brand new DGP of West Bengal. Ajay Kumar Nand will change Supratim Sarker as the brand new commissioner of Kolkata Police.
The DG of correctional companies and ADG law-and-order had been additionally transferred. Natarajan Ramesh Babu could be the brand new DG correctional companies and Ajay Mukund Ranade was posted as the brand new ADG Regulation and order.
