‘For streaming obscene content material’: Govt blocks 5 OTT platforms; motion below IT Guidelines 2021 | India Information

NEW DELHI: The federal government on Tuesday blocked 5 OTT platforms for streaming “obscene content material,” officers mentioned. The Ministry of Info and Broadcasting has directed that entry to MoodXVIP, Koyal Playpro, Digi Movieplex, Really feel, and Jugnu be blocked, following due process, in line with officers. Below this process, web service suppliers are instructed to limit entry to platforms that violate the Info Know-how (Middleman Tips and Digital Media Ethics Code) Guidelines, 2021, and legal guidelines prohibiting obscene content material. These guidelines are designed to “keep public decency, safeguard nationwide pursuits, and implement moral journalistic practices” throughout digital media.
