Google Meet It is reportedly rolling out a new call screen interface for all users. This change was first rolled out last year, but was only available to those with an enterprise account. The new call screen introduces a new pill-shaped search bar at the top, while also providing contact suggestions. Notably, this development comes after Google unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature for Meet that will activate AI-generated notes after a meeting ends.
The Google Meet update brings a new calling interface to all users
The new Google Meet chat interface has started rolling out to Android users (through 9to5Google). Along with the new pill-shaped search bar, there are redesigned larger buttons for creating and scheduling meetings and creating a group. In addition, Google Meet now provides users with suggestions for online chats.
These suggestions are based on their interactions, such as contacts with a star or recently sent emails, according to Google. Along with the new user interface, Google also introduced a new shortcut on the home screen that can be used to start meetings by entering a code. Appears as a Code option by tapping which users can enter the meeting code to start it.
These changes are part of Google Meet update 266, which is available for download. Gadgets 360 staff members were able to check out the new Google Meet interface for Android, but couldn’t spot it on Google Meet for iOS.
In recent months, Google has released several new features for its virtual meeting platform. this includes an exclusive feature for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold that allows users to use the foldable smartphone’s internal and external cameras simultaneously during a video conference.
Another recent one addition is the Take Notes for Me feature that is available to Google Workspace users who have Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or the AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons. It provides AI-generated meeting notes and can also generate full transcriptions, but the latter must be enabled manually.
