Hezbollah released an audio recording of its slain leader Hassan Nasrallah just over two weeks after an Israeli airstrike killed him in south Beirut. “We are counting on you to protect your people, your families, your nation, your values, your dignity and this holy and blessed land,” Nasrallah is heard saying in the audio. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on October 13 that the country was prepared for a “military situation” but stressed that Tehran was seeking peace. Aragchi also said there would be no “red lines” in protecting the people and the country’s interests, but efforts to “contain an all-out war in our region” would continue. Meanwhile, on October 13, the US confirmed it would send an air defense battery and US troops to Israel.
