The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized a convocation ceremony in Mumbai on January 24 for 2,386 chartered accountants graduating from the city.
The Mumbai event was held with convocations in 10 major cities of the country. About 4,305 CAs graduated from the western region comprising Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. The institute informed that the convocation was held for 14,700 Chartered Accountants on an all-India basis.
It added that 44% of the total CAs graduating this year are women.
ICAI said that the rank certificates of the CA final examination held in May 2022 and the membership certificates to the new CA members enrolled from May 2022 to September 2022 were presented at the convocations.
“The Convocation was inaugurated at ICAI’s Hyderabad Center by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture. The inauguration was telecast live at all the centres,” Institute Safe.
Addressing the students while inaugurating the convocation at ICAI Hyderabad, Meghwal said, “ICAI has done a commendable job in creating awareness and training in the field of GST. In terms of leadership, the 21st century will belong to India and it is the Chartered Accountants who will lead the country in this century.
Addressing parents and their graduating wards, ICAI President CA. (Dr) Debashis Mitra said, “Parents should be proud that their children are now members of the second largest accounting body in the world.
