Filmmaker Subhash Ghai hosted a star-studded birthday party on Monday. He turned 78 this year. Among those who joined him in the celebrations were Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan and others. Jaya Bachchan also attended the party but left soon after. Aishwarya, who starred in Subhash Ghai’s 1999 musical romantic drama Taal, arrived with her husband and actor. Abhishek Bachchan. While Aishwarya was in an embroidered blue anarkali, Abhishek was in a gala blue suit. They posed together for the paparazzi outside the venue. Taal was among Aishwarya’s first few blockbuster films and also starred Anil Kapoor, Akshay Khanna, Alok Nath, Meeta Vasisht.
Earlier Jaya Bachchan was seen leaving early and Subhash Ghai accompanied him at the door to see him off. She was in a white Anarkali suit and hugged the filmmaker before getting into the car. Mahima Chaudhary, who shot to fame with her 1997 film Pardees, also accompanied Ghai to the gate.
Salman Khan, who played the lead in Subhash Ghai’s 2008 Yuvraj, also attended the party. He also joined Subhash in a cake-cutting ceremony at the gate for the paparazzi. Salman was in a black tee with maroon pants and a brown jacket.
Yuvraj was a musical drama about a fragmented family of three brothers who try to compete with each other to inherit their father’s wealth. In the film, Salman, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan played the role of three brothers, while Katrina Kaif played the role of Salman’s rival in the film. However, it did not perform well at the box office.
The party was attended by Jackie Shroff, Karthik Aaryan, Rakesh Roshan, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Alka Yagnik and Meezan Khan and actor brothers Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy along with their families.
Subhash Ghai wrote, produced and directed several hit films in the 80s and 90s. Kalicharan, Vishwanath, Kurz, Hero, Vadhata, Meri Jung, Karma, Ramlakhan, Saudagar, Khulnayak, Pardees and Taal are some of his memorable films. During the MeToo movement, an anonymous woman accused him of sexual assault, but these allegations could not be substantiated.
