Actor Mamata Mohandas has revealed that she has been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease vitiligo. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Mamata also said that she was ‘losing colour’. He also shared several selfies. In the first picture, the actor smiles as he sits outside. Sitting on a chair in the garden while drinking a drink, Mamata held a cup. She opted for an all-black ensemble – a black t-shirt, tights and a jacket. She captioned the post, “Dear (sun emoji), I hug you now like I never did before. So Spotted, I’m losing color… I’m in front of you every morning.” I rise, to see you shine your first ray in the mist.”

Mamata also said, “Give me whatever you have, because I will be forever indebted to you here.” She also added the hashtags – color, autoimmune disease, autoimmune, vitiligo, sunday, spotlight, imperfect, no makeup, no filter, embrace the journey, healing and healing yourself. Mamta geotagged the location as Niramaya Retreats Samruha in Kerala.

Mamata is a cancer survivor. A few years ago, she suffered from cancer again. She spoke to Time of India in 2014 and said, “Well, I can’t say that I’m as strong as I was when I first got the disease. I was the type of person that no one ever had. I didn’t worry about anything, no matter what the problem was. For the first time in my life, I was scared. It’s easy to say stay positive. But this time, I realized it’s okay to be scared, to be human.”

Mamata made her debut in the 2005 Malayalam film Mayukham directed by Hariharan. He starred alongside Mammootty in Bus Conductor, Adbotham and Lanka (2006) with Suresh Gopi, and the same year with Jayaram in Madhu Chandralekha. Mamata is also a popular playback singer. After working primarily in Malayalam cinema, she has also acted in a few Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films.
