Announcing the names of the committee members in Jabalpur, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said that the committee has been given a month to complete the investigation and till then, WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh will be suspended from day-to-day work. Will stay away. Boat body.

“The committee will look into the serious allegations leveled against the WFI. It will hear both sides and submit a report after completing its investigation within a month. The Indian Olympic Association has also appointed a seven-member internal committee to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against Singh. Calling it an “unprecedented situation”, the sports ministry said in its notification that the WFI is under the National Sports Development Code and the International Olympic Committee’s policy guidelines on protecting athletes from harassment and abuse. Taking the whole situation seriously as it concerns the “welfare of the players”, the ministry directed the WFI to explain and respond to the allegations within 72 hours.

The WFI, in its reply to the ministry, rejected all allegations by the wrestlers, calling it a conspiracy to “discredit and discredit” Singh and the coaches. “No adverse action has been called for against the federation in terms of the provisions of the National Sports Development Code of India,” it said in its eight-page reply.

The ministry, however, said on Monday that it believes the “WFI has not fulfilled its duties in redressing players’ grievances and conducting the federation’s business in a professional manner.” Meanwhile, Singh quashed speculations that he was taking the legal route.
