Olivia Nuzzi quits New York Magazine over secret affair with Kennedy Jr. – Times of India

The New York Magazine Monday announced that the reporter, Olivia Nuzziwho was placed on leave because of her undisclosed relationship with RFK Jrparted ways with the magazine. “Last month, the magazine engaged the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine to review Olivia Nuzzi’s work during the 2024 campaign. They reached the same conclusion as the magazine’s initial internal review of her published work, finding no inaccuracies or evidence of bias. However, the magazine and Nuzzi agreed that the best course was to part ways. Ari Wilkenfeld, Nuzzi’s attorney, said she was pleased but not surprised that two separate investigations found that her reporting on the 2024 campaign was correct and that she did nothing wrong.
“For nearly eight years, she consistently produced critically acclaimed and highly acclaimed journalism as the Washington correspondent for New York magazine,” Wilkenfeld said. “She is grateful to the editors, fact-checkers and artists she worked with, and to the readers who supported her with their time, subscriptions and engagement. She is looking forward to the next chapter of her career.”
A major controversy erupted after it was reported that a New York magazine reporter had a relationship with Kennedy Jr., who is an aide to Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Nuzzi said the relationship was not physical and was based on text messages. Kennedy Jr. has denied the relationship and said he only met Olivia Nuzzi once when she interviewed him for a profile last year when he was running for president.
Much slander followed with the Kennedy Jr. camp claiming that Olivia Nuzzi sent nudes to Kennedy and even after being blocked by politics, she found ways to get unblocked. Nuzzi’s camp fired back, claiming the first move was made by Kennedy Jr., who grabbed her arm during the interview, which scared Nuzzi.
Apparently, Nuzzi’s engagement to fellow Politico reporter Ryan Lizza soured due to Nuzzi’s involvement with Kennedy Jr. Nuzzi accused Lizza of orchestrating a campaign of harassment and extortion against her.
