“Women’s empowerment and gender equality are no longer mere slogans, as we have made great strides towards these ideals in recent years. I have no doubt in my mind that women are the ones to shape the India of tomorrow. Most will work”, she added.

Referring to India’s assumption of the G20 presidency, Marmo termed it as an opportunity to promote democracy and multilateralism and the right forum for building a better world and a better future.

“Under India’s leadership, I am confident, the G20 will be able to further enhance its efforts to build a more equitable and sustainable global system,” the President said.

“The G20 represents about two-thirds of the world’s population and about 85 percent of global GDP, so it is an ideal forum to discuss and find solutions to global challenges. In my mind, global warming and Climate change puts the most pressure on them”, added the President.
