According to Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, a 19-year-old Pakistani girl was insulted by her father at the gates of the Karachi City Court on Monday for marrying her against her will, according to the city’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shabbir Ahmad Sithar. According to SSP Sithar, 65-year-old Amir Jan Mehsud, the accused who fired, was arrested and weapons were recovered from him.

The SHO said that the police officer posted at the entrance of the court was suspended for negligence.
