As Ram Charan RRR, the actor’s mother-in-law, Shobana Kamini recently performed the hook step from the film song, Natu Natu which recently bagged the prestigious Golden Globe Award. Ramcharan’s wife Upasana Kunidela shared a video of her mother from the streets of Davos, Switzerland. Shobana is the executive vice-chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, who attended the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. In the video, Shobna is seen tapping her feet to the popular track with a smile. She also sported a black look with a printed scarf around her neck. He almost recited the popular chorus of the song during an impromptu dance.
Sharing the video, Upasana wrote on Twitter, “Very proud mother-in-law – #NatuNatu in Davos Love mom @shobanakamineni.” Reacting to this, one fan wrote in the comments, “Super mom”. “Yes very proud mother,” added another.
Talking about the success of RRR, Ramcharan’s mother-in-law told Moneycontrol, “It’s just been amazing, outdoorsy. We thought the film was fantastic, but the fact that it got an international reception. “Rahee, suddenly you give hope to a lot of Indians. I mean if you can win this, and a Telugu song can do it, any Indian can do anything.”
SS Rajamouli’s RRR makes history abroad. Ram Charan and Jr. NTR starrer Nattu Nattu recently won the Best Original Song award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards. It is composed by MM Kirwani and sung by Rahul Sapliganj and Kala Bhairava. The now famous dance is choreographed by Prem Rakshit.
Apart from the Golden Globes, RRR also bagged two awards at the 28th edition of the Critics’ Choice Awards. It was for Best Foreign Film and Best Song. However, it did not make the final shortlist for the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards. It was longlisted for the Best Film Not in the English Language category.
Meanwhile, all eyes are now on RRR’s Oscar chances as it has made the shortlist for music (original song). Along with this, many are hoping that it will get a Best Picture nomination as well. The final list of nominations will be announced on January 24.
