Nick Reiner’s Court Appearance

Nick Reiner, 32, appeared in a Los Angeles court for the first time on Wednesday, where he waived his right to enter a plea on two counts of first-degree murder. The court agreed to postpone his arraignment until January 7, when he will again be given the opportunity to enter a plea.

During the brief hearing, Reiner responded only when asked if he understood his right to a speedy trial. The judge also ordered that media outlets refrain from filming the defendant. Reiner remains in custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.

Legal representatives indicated that the delay may allow time for further evaluations, including a possible psychiatric assessment, before formal proceedings move forward.
