Russia destroyed 125 Ukrainian drones overnight, targeting seven regions and the Sea of Azov, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Air defense systems intercepted a significant number, including 67 drones over Volgograd and others over Belgorod, Rostov and Voronezh. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s air force reported shooting down 15 of 22 Shahed drones launched by Russia, with attacks targeting Sumy, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia and Odessa. In a stark warning, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned the US and Europe against what he called a “suicide attempt” in their continued support for Ukraine. China reiterated calls for de-escalation, with Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressing restraint in Ukraine to prevent further conflict. North Korea has joined the fray, criticizing US military aid to Ukraine as a “stupid act” that could risk a nuclear escalation with Russia.
