Former US President Donald Trump has requested the prosecution of Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), claiming that her husband stock transactions before a lawsuit against Visa rose seriously ethical considerationsaccording to the New York Post.
Speaking at a press conference in Trump Tower in New York, Trump accused the former Speaker of the House of Representatives of having inside knowledge of a Justice Department lawsuit against Visa, suggesting she tipped off her husband, Paul Pelosi before selling shares in the company.

According to financial disclosures, Paul Pelosi unloaded 2,000 Visa shares valued between $500,000 and $1 million on July 1. Less than three months later, Visa was hit with antitrust suit by the DOJ, alleging that it illegally monopolized the debit card market.
“Think about it. Nancy Pelosi sold huge amounts of Visa stock one day before the big lawsuit we all read about a few days ago,” Trump said. “She should be tried. Nancy Pelosi should be sued for this.
At the time of the sale, there was no public indication of the pending lawsuit, although Visa shares fell 5.5% the day it was announced.
Earlier this week, a representative for Pelosi denied any wrongdoing, saying, “Speaker Pelosi owns no stock and has no prior knowledge or subsequent involvement in any transactions.”
Real estate investor Paul Pelosi has faced backlash for his investments in the past, but has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
