The Supreme Courtroom will hear immediately the suo motu case taken over the NCERT Class 8 textbook chapter on “corruption in judiciary.”

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joylamlya Bagchi & Justice Vipul Pancholi will hear the matter.

The case titled “In Re : Social Science Textbook for Grade-8(Half 2) revealed by NCERT and ancillary points” was suo motu registered yesterday.

Yesterday morning, the CJI had expressed displeasure over the contents of the e book, saying he wouldn’t enable anybody to defame the establishment.

Senior Advocates Kapil Sibal and Dr AM Singhvi orally raised their issues in regards to the textbook content material earlier than the CJI, saying it was scandalising the complete judiciary.

CJI Surya Kant stated that he was conscious of the difficulty and that many judges have been perturbed by the developments. “I cannot enable anybody on the earth to taint the integrity and defame the complete establishment,” CJI stated, revealing that he has handed orders to take suo motu motion.

The CJI stated that the transfer seemed to be a “calculated measure”. After the CJI expressed his unhappiness, NCERT reportedly withdrew the e book.
