Texas road accident: Three from Andhra Pradesh among five killed

A tragic road accident near Randolph in Texas resulted in the loss of five Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). Among the deceased, three people, including a woman, have been identified as hailing from Tirupati district in Andhra Pradesh.

The crash is believed to have been caused by excessive speed. According to Texas Public Safety officials, the two-vehicle crash happened about seven miles south of Bonham on the Texas Turnpike at 6:45 p.m. local time.

Reports from X’s local sources also indicated that excessive speed was a contributing factor. Concerns have been expressed about obtaining comprehensive information about the individuals involved in the incident.

The collision occurred when the victims’ vehicle, traveling from Oklahoma to Dallas, Texas, collided with another vehicle, causing both vehicles to burst into flames immediately. The crash happened on State Highway 121 between Bonham and Trenton at 5:55 p.m. Monday (October 14, 2024), according to a local X publication.

Meanwhile, the local police authorities in Chittoor said that they are yet to receive any official information about this incident. According to preliminary information, the deceased have been identified as Gopi, Shiva and Haritha.
