Trump demands Kamala Harris take cognitive test amid medical records dispute

Former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has demanded that his rival Kamala Harris take a cognitive test, saying the vice president’s “absolutely insane” answers to questions suggest there may be something “very wrong with her”.

“I believe it is very important that Kamala Harris passes a test of cognitive endurance and agility,” the 78-year-old leader fired in an X post.

“Her actions have led many to believe that there may be something very wrong with her,” he added.

Former President Trump slammed Vice President Kamala Harris after her recent interview with “60 Minutes,” where one of her answers was edited out by CBS News. Trump pointed to the incident as evidence that Harris needed to show she was fit for the presidency.

“Even ’60 Minutes’ and CBS, in order to protect Lynn Kamala, illegally and unscrupulously replaced an answer she gave that was completely ‘crazy’ with another answer that had nothing to do with the question being asked,” Trump said.

Also, she is slow and lethargic in answering even the simplest questions. We just went through almost four years of that, we shouldn’t have to do it again!” he said.

His comments came just days after Harris, 59, released a medical report from her White House physician, Dr. Joshua Simmons. The report states that she is in “excellent health” and has the physical and mental stamina required for the role. It also notes that her last medical check-up in April was “unremarkable” and that she leads a healthy, active lifestyle.

She “possesses the physical and mental toughness necessary to successfully carry out the duties of the presidency, including those as chief executive, head of state and commander-in-chief,” he wrote in a two-page letter released Saturday.
