Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday became a French fry cook at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania and lashed out at Democratic rival Kamala Harris, saying he “worked 15 minutes more than Kamala” at the fast-food chain .
The former US president stopped by a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania, in an attempt to challenge Kamala Harris’ claim of being “middle class.” Harris has talked about her time at McDonald’s in her ads and campaign speeches.
However, Trump has repeatedly maintained that Harris never worked at McDonald’s as reported The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Trump suited up and worked behind the station making fries in addition to interacting with McDonald’s staff. He also served food to people at the entrance of the restaurant.
“Look at the crowd here. They are so happy because they have hope. They need hope,” he said. “Now I worked 15 minutes longer than Kamala.”
Last month, at a campaign event in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Trump said, “I want to work as a chef to see what it’s like,” referring to Harris’ previous job.
Both candidates have been making frequent stops in Pennsylvania in the final weeks before Election Day on Nov. 5, recognizing the state’s importance to securing victory. Trump and Harris have focused heavily on Pennsylvania, with both campaigns reportedly pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the state.
With just over two weeks until Election Day on November 5, 2024, Harris and Trump are in a tight race. Both candidates are ramping up their efforts as they campaign vigorously in key states.
