Zomato approves allotment of 12 million ESOPs worth Rs 330 crore to employees – News18


At the current market price, Zomato’s entire ESOP scheme becomes worth Rs 330.17 crore.

Zomato stock options granted will be exercisable within (a) 10 years from the date of vesting of options or (b) 12 years from the date of listing, whichever is later under ESOP 2014 and ESOP 2021.

Food delivery platform Zomato has approved a total grant of 12 million stock options to eligible employees under the Foodie Bay Employee Stock Option Plan 2014 (ESOP 2014) and Zomato Stock Option Plan 2021 (ESOP 2021).

“We wish to inform that the Company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee by circular resolution today, October 2, 2024, has approved a total grant of 1,19,97,768 stock options under the Foodie Bay 2014 Employee Stock Option Plan ( ESOP 2014) and Zomato Employee Stock Option Plan 2021 (ESOP 2021) to eligible employees,” Zomato said in a BSE filing on October 2.

Each share option is convertible into one fully paid share of face value of Rs 1 each, it said.

“The stock options granted will be exercisable within (a) 10 years from the option vesting date or (b) 12 years from the vesting date, whichever is later under the 2014 ESOP and the 2021 ESOP,” Zomato said.

Shares of Zomato on Friday jumped 2.38% or Rs 6.40 to close at Rs 275.2 a share on the BSE. At the current price, the entire ESOP scheme becomes worth Rs 330.17 crore.
