Israeli police stop Catholic leaders from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass at Jerusalem church
The Israeli police prevented Catholic leaders from getting into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to have a good time a non-public Mass on the Christian vacation of Palm Sunday for the primary time in centuries, setting off a wave of criticism from the US and others.
Jerusalem’s main holy websites, together with the church, are closed due to the continuing Iran conflict, as town has come below frequent hearth from Iranian missiles.
Early Monday (March 30, 2026) morning, Israel’s police stated it had authorized a “restricted prayer framework” for the church, in session with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
