Dharwad: The All India Democratic College students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has strongly opposed the Karnataka authorities’s resolution to introduce necessary vocational training for college kids from Class 6 in Karnataka Public Faculties (KPS) underneath the STEAM (science, know-how, engineering, arts and arithmetic) framework. In a press release, AIDSO district secretary Shashikala Meti alleged that the initiative was an oblique try to implement the Nationwide Schooling Coverage (NEP)-2020, which, she claimed, had already been rejected by the individuals of the state. She contended that the programme, designed in partnership with business stakeholders, would undermine foundational studying in topics such because the mom tongue, arithmetic, science and social sciences. Meti urged the state govt to withdraw the STEAM-based vocational training programme and appealed to college students, dad and mom and educationists to oppose the transfer to safeguard public training.
