Nirmal: The method of issuing tokens to farmers to allow them to promote jowar resulted in chaos at Kubheer mandal centre on Saturday. On studying that tokens can be issued from Saturday, farmers from a number of villages fashioned lengthy queues at three counters on the workplace of Indira Kranthi Pathakam from Friday night and stayed awake all night time. Officers started issuing tokens at 9.30 am, and people standing in queues began jostling with each other, resulting in accidents to some girls farmers.
The farmers expressed dissatisfaction over the poor preparations for issuing the tokens. They regretted that they have been struggling to acquire the tokens.
